What about SUPPLEMENT?What about SUPPLEMENT & SOUND(E)SCAPES? Is Soundscape a specific fenomena in Radio? Is escaping sound the thing in Supplement? How about Soundscape itself? Is Soundscape only an acoustic thing especially related to ecology? May be Soundscapes in Radio should be more like a (musical) composition by its specific way of dealing whith sound and time. In that sence it will be one of the soundescapes to be presented in Supplement, the radioprogramme always looking for the newest and the latest in musical live. Since 1979 involved in the NOS Jazz Festival in Laren and Amsterdam, working with the Metropole Orchestra (international co-productions: Nordring and BBC). Initiated three one-hour-weekly radioshows: Podium of Light Music in the Netherlands, NOS Jazz Platform and Bovenbouw (on experiments in music of all kind; predecessor of Supplement). 1985 - 1995 responsible for jazz and improvised music for NOS. Initiated Supplement about ten years ago, to create a weekly four hour radio-programme to present all about now-a-days musical life in Holland and abroad (chief editor until 1997). Presently responsible for Radio Passaat (on ethnic- and folkmusic), moderating Thema (daily radioprogramme), festival co-ordinator (Holland Festival, Northsea Jazz Festival, Music Meeting, Dunya Festival, Klap op de Vuurpijl a.o.) and involved in new technologies in radio. |
